21 dead in bus accident in Italy: "Huge tragedy"  

 

21 people have died and twelve have been injured after a bus accident in Mestre, just outside Venice in Italy, Italian media reports. 

 

According to La Repubblica, the bus must have fallen from a viaduct and then landed next to a railway area. Venice mayor Luigi Brugnaro writes on X that there are "apocalyptic scenes". "An enormous tragedy struck our community this evening."

Meloni: Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families  

 

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expresses her and the government's "deepest condolences" after the bus accident outside Venice where at least 20 people died on Tuesday evening. "Our thoughts go out to the victims and their family and friends," she writes on X. 

 

She further writes that she is in close contact with the city's mayor Luigi Brugnaro. According to Italian media, the bus fell from a viaduct. The reason is unclear. Look up details
