The condemnation: Vietnam wants to silence critics about the climate

Vietnam arrested climate expert - threatened with five years in prison
Ngo Thi To Nhien, executive director of a Vietnamese think tank focused on climate issues, has been arrested. This is reported by several media.
Vietnamese authorities confirm the arrest, which took place on September 20. She is accused of illegally seizing confidential documents and faces up to five years in prison.
Nhien is the sixth climate expert arrested in the country in the past two years. She worked on a plan for the implementation of Vietnam's energy transition.
