Professor: AI girlfriends a threat to the entire economy
Virtual AI girlfriends are about to create a future financial crisis in the US. That's what Liberty Vittert, professor of computer science, writes in a post on The Hill.
She writes that a "super hot AI girlfriend" can be a lure for many, as it can listen to you and give you appreciation 24/7.
The only problem is that the innovation risks isolating young men even more from reality, thereby exacerbating the ongoing "silent epidemic of loneliness".
"It enables a generation of single men to remain single and childless, which will have devastating effects on the American economy in less than a decade,"

Google's AI chatbot Bard gets memory function
Google's AI chatbot Bard will soon get a new feature that will make the bot remember certain details about the user. This is so that the answers delivered will be personalized without the user needing to state their preferences each time Bard is used. For example, Bard will know the user's possible allergies when it comes up with tips on recipes, writes the site 9 to 5 Google.
For privacy and security reasons, it will be easy to turn off the memory function with a button on the left side of the screen.

American security service starts center against AI threats
The American security agency NSA is about to start a center that will work with reviewing the use of AI in various national security systems. This is reported by Engadget.
The new center is part of a larger investment in AI that the NSA is now making, and the idea was sparked after the NSA conducted a study showing that AI models with poor security pose a significant risk to national security.
“We need to gain a robust understanding of AI vulnerabilities and foreign security threats to AI systems, and find ways to counter them. We must also ensure that foreign actors cannot steal innovative American AI solutions," writes the NSA in a statement.
