Kibbutz survivors direct anger at Netanyahu: "Never forget"
Kibbutz Nahal Oz was one of the first targets of Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7. There, 17-year-old Tomer Eliaz was forced to go from house to house urging his neighbors to open the door or he would be killed. Several of those who opened were murdered, while others were taken hostage. When Hamas was done with Tomer Eliaz, he was shot dead.
Tomer's fate is one of many testimonies from survivors who visited the European Parliament on Wednesday, writes Politico.
Several of them are directing their anger at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the divided right-wing government. They accuse Netanyahu of fomenting hatred through his policies, and are also critical that the help from the military took so long.
- They abandoned my daughter and let her die. I will never forget that, says Elad Poterman, who survived the attack on Nahal Oz, and continues:
- I will force the government out of the Knesset with my own hands. I will do it, and I have started to organize a large number of people who want the same thing.

Meta and Tiktok under scrutiny – the EU requires action
The EU is to review what measures Facebook owner Meta and Tiktok have taken to stop the spread of disinformation and unauthorized content about the war between Israel and Hamas, reports AFP.
The EU launched a similar review of Elon Musk's X last week.
Both Meta and Tiktok have until October 25 to provide material showing how they work with the matter, otherwise they risk heavy fines from the Union.

At least 300 arrested during giant protest at the Capitol
Hundreds of American Jews gathered for a demonstration on the grounds of the US Capitol on Wednesday, CBS News reports.
Just over 200 people entered an office building for members of the US House of Representatives and about 500 people blocked a road outside.
Most of the protesters are members of the Jewish organization Jewish Voice for Peace, which opposes Israel's occupation of Palestine. They called on President Joe Biden to push for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, as well as to immediately send humanitarian aid to Gaza.
According to the police, the protesters refused to obey the call to leave the area, after which at least 300 people were arrested.

The world's media are trying to get clarity on the hospital explosion
The world's media are trying to get clarity on the hospital explosion
The media is trying to clarify the reason behind the devastating hospital explosion in Gaza by analyzing and compiling image and video material.
The question of guilt has been particularly central after the incident. Hamas accuses Israel of being behind it, while Israel blames the militant group Islamic Jihad.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari has claimed that the absence of major craters in the area proves that the explosion was not caused by Israeli weapons. The investigative journalism network Bellingcat has found what appears to be a crater in close proximity to the hospital, but it is of the smaller kind.
Several experts spoken to by the BBC say the evidence is inconclusive but say the nature of the explosion does not match what you would expect from a typical Israeli airstrike.
