Budget chaos in Germany - could declare a state of emergency
Germany's government plans to present a proposal for a national emergency to deal with the country's budget crisis, TT reports.
The state of emergency would provide an opportunity to round the debt rules of the constitution.
Last
week, the Constitutional Court rejected the government's plans to use
60 billion euros in unused debt from the pandemic years for the green
transition. The
court considered that the proposal violates the constitution, which
does not allow the state to borrow more than the equivalent of 0.35
percent of GDP annually.
