A heavy fire has spread to and destroyed a rowhouse area in Drammen, about forty kilometers southwest of Oslo, Norwegian media report.
The police are also warning that the flames are moving towards another residential area, according to the NTB news agency.
The fire is not under control and according to the police, over 50 homes have been destroyed.
– No injured residents have been reported, but one firefighter has suffered minor injuries, says emergency manager Lise Bjørnsund to NRK.
The injured firefighter has been taken to hospital.
Bjørnsund says that there is also a fire in the terrain. Among other things, fire helicopters are participating in the extinguishing work.
Explosions have also been heard in the area before and the public is being asked to stay away.
