The Israel-Hezbollah conflict
Netanyahu: "Hezbollah will understand the message"

In recent days, Israel has carried out a number of attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon that the Iran-backed militia "could never have imagined", says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Reuters.

- If Hezbollah did not understand the message, I promise you, they will understand, he says.

Netanyahu also says he "cannot tolerate" attacks after Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets from Lebanon early this morning. Israel responded with attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

At the same time, Lebanon's Ministry of Health states that the death toll from the Israeli air raids on Beirut on Friday has risen to 45 people.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah militia says it fired a number of rockets from Lebanon at a military base in Haifa, Israel, AP writes. Hezbollah claims it used a new type of projectile in response to repeated Israeli attacks on various areas of Lebanon.

At the same time, Iraqi groups state that they carried out a drone attack from Iraq against targets in Israel, writes AFP.

According to Israel, more than 100 rockets were fired, writes AFP. Israeli Haaretz writes that several buildings were hit and that paramedics are treating some slightly injured people. No serious injuries have been reported.

Israel's military, the IDF, says it is responding to the rockets by attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
