The detonations in Lebanon

Company owned by a Norwegian - linked to the pagers

A company owned by a Norwegian is linked to the pagers that detonated in Lebanon earlier this week. This is written by several Norwegian media, which refer to Hungarian Telex sources.

For NRK, Norwegian police confirm that they have started "a preliminary investigation into the information that has come to light."

The company in question must be registered in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, and involved in the sale of the pagers, writes Aftenposten. The company's site featured a presentation of various technical and advisory services as late as 11 a.m. on Thursday. It has since been emptied and now only shows a message that content is missing, writes NRK.

NRK has also been in contact with the man's employer, who describes his employee as "calm and friendly". According to the employer, the man must be on a business trip abroad at the moment.

The blinker calls for calm - the Minister of Defense cancels

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken calls on "all parties" not to escalate the situation in the Middle East, writes AFP.

- France and the United States are united in calling for restraint and calling for a de-escalation regarding the Middle East in general and regarding Lebanon in particular, he says after talks in Paris with his French counterpart Stéphane Séjourné.

He also states that the United States continues to work to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Axios reports, citing two Israeli sources with access to information, that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is canceling a planned trip to Israel next week due to the troubled situation.

The Hezbollah leader: This can be seen as a declaration of war

Hezbollah's "red lines" were violated by the blasts of communications equipment carried out earlier this week. This is what Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah says in a first televised speech after the attack.

- This can be seen as a declaration of war, he says according to Reuters.

Hezbollah has singled out Israel as responsible. Israel rarely or never comments on operations abroad, and has not done so this time either.

About 3,000 people were injured and at least 37 killed when pagers and walkie-talkies exploded in several locations in Lebanon earlier this week.
