Israel-Hamas War

Israel-Hamas War Victims
649-page document with names of killed Gazans

Gaza's Ministry of Health has released a list of 34,344 identified Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks, The Guardian reports. The list contains name, age, gender and ID number.

Hospitals and morgues have received a further 7,613 bodies, but in those cases the identities have not been established.

Among the identified dead are 169 babies born after the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 and a man born in 1922 who lived through more than 100 years of war and unrest.

The document is 649 pages long and more than 100 pages are filled with the names of victims younger than ten years old. The first name of an adult killed does not appear until page 215.

The ministry is controlled by Hamas. The figures have proven credible in previous outbreaks of violence.

Blink back in Cairo for ceasefire talks

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Cairo, Egypt to once again discuss a possible truce between Israel and Hamas, several media reports. The visit is Blinken's tenth in the region since the war broke out eleven months ago.

The visit takes place at the same time that Israel is accused of yesterday's attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon, which was carried out with the help of pagers and also injured civilians. US State Department Matthew Miller has said that it is still too early to say whether the attack will affect the ceasefire negotiations, writes Reuters.
