Powerful unions do not back down: "Lack of serious commitments"

The powerful Teamsters union, which represents, among other things, truck drivers, will not support any candidate in the fall presidential election in the United States. CNN reports.

"Unfortunately, none of the candidates have been able to make serious commitments to our union to assure us that the interests of workers will come before those of big business," says Teamsters President Sean O'Brien.

The statement comes shortly after the union released an internal poll showing that 60 percent of members support Trump, while 34 percent support Harris.

Other major unions have expressed their support for the Democrats. The last time the Teamsters didn't back a candidate was 1996. They haven't endorsed a Republican since 1988.

FBI: Iran tried to influence election with stolen information

Iranian hackers sent messages to people involved in President Joe Biden's previous election campaign. This is stated by the FBI, according to several news agencies.

The messages were allegedly sent in June and contained non-public material from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign.

It was in mid-August that Trump's campaign accused Iran of carrying out a hacker attack, which Iran denied.

According to the FBI, it is an attempt by Iran to influence the presidential election later this fall.
