Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan is back in prison after a short stay in hospital, the country's information minister announced on Friday.

The minister wrote in a post on X that Khan was examined by a medical team who determined that he can be moved back to prison.

The 73-year-old former prime minister has complained of poor health and is said to have lost sight in one eye a year ago.

Khan, who is a former cricket star, has been imprisoned since 2023. He was removed as prime minister in 2022 by a vote of no confidence. Since then, he has been convicted in several trials for corruption, among other things, in cases that he himself believes are politically motivated.
