Russian invasion The fighting

Empty Patriot systems have not been fired for weeks

Ukraine has basically run out of missiles for its Patriot systems, reports CNN, which visited one of the air defense systems on Ukrainian soil.

Engineer Dmytro says he has not seen a Patriot missile fired in six weeks. He describes it as heartbreaking to have the system but not be able to fire at the ballistic missiles flying over their heads.

– It's like being able to walk but not being allowed to walk. Being able to breathe but not being allowed to breathe.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyj states that Ukraine needs the equivalent of 5 percent of the US missile stockpile to get through the winter – but today only has 1 percent.

Russia: Over 600 drones targeted Moscow overnight

Ukraine has carried out a large-scale drone attack on Moscow overnight, according to the Kyiv Independent. How many of them reached their targets is unclear, but the AFP news agency writes that official sources state that several people have been injured.

The capital's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, writes in a series of posts on Telegram that over 600 Ukrainian drones have been sent to the region and that Russian air defenses have shot down at least 187 of them.

An attack of a similar scale was carried out this weekend and was described by the AP as one of Ukraine's largest so far in the war.
