Burnham: Clear signs of Iranian involvement

There are clear signs that Iran was involved in the events at the British military airbase RAF Fairford. This is according to Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

In an interview with Sky News, Burnham states that the question of possible Iranian involvement in the suspected planned terrorist attack is "complicated" and that he cannot comment further on the matter due to the ongoing police investigation.

"We have been waiting to be able to substantiate what we are saying, but now we can confirm that we believe Iran played a role," he says.

Five men were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack against the RAF Fairford airbase, which is used by both the UK and the US.

The men, all British citizens aged between 20 and 25, were released on bail as early as Monday.
