ECB vs inflation
Big bank against the tide: The ECB has finished raising
Despite the EMU's inflation being somewhat hotter than expected in August, Morgan Stanley is turning its back and assesses that the ECB will not raise interest rates again, writes Bloomberg. The bank's economists note that service inflation is slowing down, just like the wider economy.
"We change our assessment of the ECB and expect a break in September," they write in a customer letter, adding that they now see today's 3.75 percent as the final peak for the deposit rate.
However, the market is still pricing in the ECB's interest rate peaking at 4.0 percent later this year, writes Bloomberg.

Climate change hits Prosecco producers
Recurring extreme weather events fueled by climate change are threatening the production of Prosecco and a range of other European wines, Euronews reports.
Extreme rainfall causes erosion damage to the vineyards of northern Italy and severe drought is another circumstance that poses it for wine producers.
According to estimates, harvests could be reduced by up to 20 percent as a result of the extreme weather. At the same time, demand for the Glera grape in the sparkling wine has increased by 33 percent in five years.

The Storming of the Capitol
The man with the police shield is sentenced to ten years in prison
46-year-old Dominic Pezzola is sentenced to ten years in prison for his involvement in the storming of the Capitol in 2021, US media reports.
Pezzola, a member of the far-right group Proud Boys, smashed a window of the congressional building with the help of a police riot shield, after which an initial wave of Trump supporters managed to enter.
On Thursday, several other Proud Boys members were sentenced to prison terms. Pezzola is the only one in the indictment who is not considered guilty of the crime of "seditious conspiracy" - roughly sedition against the state.
Prosecutors had asked for 20 years in prison.
