50 to 100 people must be present in the area. Of which approximately 15 throw stones at the police.

- The resources that are in place now are trained to handle this type of situation, says Evelina Olsson, press spokesperson at the police.

A special event has already started earlier in the day. Traffic will be closed in the area.

The police also assist the rescue service with extinguishing work.

- We have had a larger resource running during the day and will continue to have it throughout the evening, says Patric Fors.

No one should be injured. The police have not arrested any people either.

Earlier Koran burning in the city

During Sunday afternoon, Salwan Momika carried out a Koran burning at Värnhemstorget in Malmö.

The police then described the atmosphere as violent and several hundred people gathered at the scene. Just before 2 p.m., a violent riot occurred.

Three people were arrested as a result of the incident - and around ten were detained.

An electric scooter was also thrown at a police bus.

The police cannot confirm that the events in Rosengård later in the evening have anything to do with the riots at Värnhemstorget.

- It is close at hand to see a connection, but it is not yet something we can determine, says Evelina Olsson at the police.

Two special events began in Malmö on Sunday. One as a result of the Koran burning - the other before a football match between Malmö FF and IFK Gothenburg.

- The residents of Malmö will therefore see a lot of police officers in town today, we have taken precautions against possible incidents, said Richard Lundqvist, police spokesperson, earlier in the day.
