BREAKING: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that former spokesperson of the disbanded Future Forward Party Pannikar Wanich is banned from seeking political office, and from voting, for life due to her implicating the monarchy institution in politics.
Pravit Rojanaphruk's take: This is utterly wrong. The court shouldn't have such power in a genuine democracy, to ban someone from seeking political office. What political system are we in?
We need to question & oppose such excessive judicial power.
The Election Commission on Wednesday reveals money raised and used by political parties during the May general election and Move Forward Party both raised and used most money at 40.9 million baht. Pro-junta United Thai Nation Party raised 30.7 million baht but spent 40.6 million baht during the campaign. Pheu Thai raised 36 million baht and spent 40.2 million baht.
Bhumjai Thai Party raised 44 million baht and spent 38.4 million baht campaigning. The party spent most on campaign posters at 29.8 million baht, however. The Democrat Party raised 38.8 and spent 34.4 million baht. Pro-junta Phalang Pracharath Party raised 44 million baht and spent 24.2 million baht. #Thailand #WhatsHappeningInThailand #KE
