Macron meets Ukrainian brigade on exercise in France

An entire brigade of 2⁠ 300 Ukrainian soldiers receives combat and weapons training in France for the first time, with French weapons by French soldiers. This is reported by AP.

President Emmanuel Macron met the soldiers with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov at the head of a military base in eastern France on Wednesday, Kyiv Independent writes.

Ukraine's military is training the other half of the brigade, which will amount to a total of 4⁠ 500 men.

Macron has promised three billion euros in military aid to Ukraine this year.

Summit postponed - unclear when it will be

This weekend's summit on Ukraine — which was supposed to take place in Ramstein, Germany — has been postponed with no new date set. This is reported by several media.

The reason is that US President Joe Biden canceled his trip to Germany due to Hurricane Milton, which is expected to hit Florida with full force later on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was expected to present the details of what he called the country's "victory plan".
