Gunman arrested outside Donald Trump's campaign rally

On Saturday, Donald Trump held a campaign rally in California.
About 800 meters away, a 49-year-old gunman was arrested - with a shotgun and a loaded pistol.
- We probably stopped another murder attempt, says local police officer Chad Bianco.
A third assassination attempt against Donald Trump is believed to have been stopped.
Yesterday, the presidential candidate was at a campaign rally in the Coachella Valley in the US state of California.
About 800 meters away, police arrested a 49-year-old gunman from Las Vegas.
"We probably stopped another murder attempt," said local police Chad Bianco, according to ABC.
According to ABC, the suspicions against the man were raised at 5 p.m., local time. He then drove into a checkpoint with a black SUV.
The man carried a shotgun, a loaded handgun, a magazine and forged VIP and press passes to the campaign rally, the Daily News reports.
He was arrested on suspicion of serious weapons offenses and released on bail on Saturday.
In a statement, the Secret Service thanked the local police.
"The Secret Service extends its gratitude to local partners who assisted during yesterday's events."
In June of this year, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump was then hit in his right ear and was slightly injured. A bystander in the audience died during the shooting.
In September, Trump's team announced that a shooting had taken place at the former president's golf course in Florida. Trump was not injured and shortly thereafter, 58-year-old Ryan Routh was arrested on suspicion of two counts of weapons offences.
