Iran is holding its breath before Israel's great revenge.
This weekend they can strike, according to sources for NBC.
- They will not understand what happened, says Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
After the pager explosions in Beirut and the bombing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran, Israel is threatening new "surprises".
This time against Iran, as a revenge after the rocket attacks.
- Our attack will be powerful, precise and above all surprising. They will not understand what happened or how it happened, says Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Israel is celebrating right now
and is expected to remain low until sunset on Saturday night, according to CNN.
But according to NBC, the attack could take place as early as this weekend. And the Israeli soldiers have now been banned from fasting during the holiday.
"Extremely nervous"
One of the designated targets is said to be Iran's nuclear facilities where uranium is enriched. The US has warned Israel about striking facilities and at the moment does not think that is the case.
Instead, it is believed that Israel will attack military targets and energy infrastructure in the country. But Gallant has only provided scant information to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, writes NBC.
Iran's government is said to be "extremely nervous" about retaliation, according to sources to CNN. Diplomatic discussions have begun with other countries to minimize the scale of the attack.
Meeting with Putin
At the same time, President Masoud Pezeshkian has had a meeting with Russia's Vladimir Putin and the countries are now expected to conclude a "strategic agreement".
Putin attacked Israel's "barbaric" bombings in Lebanon and accused the US of being complicit in the killing of civilians.
- I want to create a new world order, said the Russian president and stated that the relationship with Iran is developing very well.
