UN: Our forces were fired upon by an Israeli tank

On Wednesday, an Israeli tank shelled a position belonging to Unifil, the UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon, Unifil said according to AFP.

The incident occurred in the village of Kfar Kaza. According to Unifil, the tank fired at their watchtower in "a direct and apparently deliberate attack". The tower was damaged and two cameras were destroyed, but no one was reported injured.

Several Unifil employees have been injured in Israeli attacks in Lebanon, which has been condemned internationally. Israel maintains that it did not attack Unifil on purpose, and calls on the forces to leave Lebanon.
