Sources: Attack on Iran could happen this weekend - leaning towards energy and military targets
The US assessment is that Israel is planning to attack military targets and energy infrastructure in Iran in response to last week's drone attack, sources told NBC.
No final decision has been made, but the US does not believe that Israel will strike against nuclear facilities. According to the US sources, Israel has not stated when an attack will be carried out, or if it has even been decided, but it is not ruled out that it could take place during the weekend celebration of the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
The US has reportedly urged Israel to respond proportionately, and has previously said it should not attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

Norwegian diplomats leave Beirut - too unsafe
Several Norwegian diplomats are leaving Beirut after the security situation in Lebanon worsened, Norwegian media write. This follows Israeli attacks on the capital and on the UN force in the country in recent days.
According to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, the security situation makes it difficult for the embassy to help people in the country. In addition, the Foreign Ministry urges Norwegian citizens to leave the country.
The country's ambassador, however, will remain in the country together with a few diplomats.

The way Israel has responded to the Hamas terrorist attack last October is a violation of humanitarian law. This is what former top diplomat Jan Eliasson thinks, writes Göteborgs-Posten.
- The Hamas attack on October 7 last year was bestial and terrible. But I also think that the response is disproportionate from Israel. Nobody can escape that, says Eliasson.
He believes that no "further legal analysis" is needed to establish that the killing of civilians, starvation and isolation in Gaza constitutes a war crime.
Furthermore, Eliasson warns that the situation in the Middle East will escalate and believes that the government should evacuate Swedes from Lebanon.
