At least seven people killed during funeral in Gaza
At least seven people have been killed during a funeral procession in Gaza, according to the Hamas-controlled Civil Defense, writes TT. At the same time, 22 people were injured on Friday.
Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp says that the funeral took place after another Israeli attack that took place earlier in the day. According to the Israeli military, the attack was directed against a Hamas member, writes AP.
The new attack, the IDF says, was directed against a "terror cell" with links to Palestinian Islamic Jihad. But the IDF also confirms that it is aware that civilians have been injured.
Israel: We control 65 percent of Gaza
Israel controls 65 percent of Gaza, says the IDF's deputy chief of staff Tamir Yadai. That's more than the 53 percent that was in the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, writes The Guardian.
Yadai describes the figures as a victory and that the country has killed "over 70,000 terrorists".
