A Turkish-owned cargo ship sailing under the flag of Guinea-Bissau has been hit in a Russian attack in the Black Sea, the Ukrainian navy said in a statement.

The bulk carrier Golden Leo was hit by three missiles, causing a fire on board. Five people were killed.

Eight more crew members have been evacuated to a hospital in Odesa, Ukraine.
