Russia: Several dead in attacks on holiday resort and Crimea

Six people have been killed and at least 40 have been injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian holiday resort on the Black Sea coast, the region's governor said, according to AFP. Three of the dead were reportedly children.

Four more people were killed in a separate attack on Russian-occupied Crimea.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry said the military had hit several Russian military targets overnight, including a "logistics and communications hub" in Crimea and a fuel depot in Belgorod. The BBC reports.

In Ukraine, three people were killed in a Russian attack on President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown of Kryvyi Rih during the day.

New Ukrainian attacks on Wildberries in Russia

Ukraine has again struck warehouses belonging to the company Wildberries in Russia, reports the Kyiv Independent.

Unverified video footage on social media shows thick black smoke rising from the building in the town of Khryastovo near Moscow. Wildberries confirms that one of its facilities is on fire and writes that no one was killed.

Ukraine has attacked facilities linked to Wildberries, often described as “Russia’s Amazon”, on at least 24 occasions since the beginning of July. According to Ukraine, Russia uses the chain to transport military equipment.

Russian diplomat summoned: “Reckless attacks”

The Foreign Ministry is summoning Russia’s chargé d’affaires, Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) told TT.

The purpose is to protest Russia’s “reckless attacks” on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

“Russia’s violations of international humanitarian law must never, ever be accepted, no matter how long the war lasts.”

She also points out that Russian attacks have violated other countries' airspace and caused damage to the Lithuanian embassy in Kyiv.
