Trump's criticism of the prosecutor: "She backed down immediately"

Donald Trump is furious with US District Attorney Jeanine Pirro for filing charges of vandalism after the failed renovation of the water mirror at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, several American media outlets report.

On Monday, she dropped charges against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, among others. Pirro says it's more about shortcomings in the renovation than vandalism.

- I'm disappointed in Jeanine Pirro, really disappointed in her. She backed down immediately, says Trump, who still believes the mirror was destroyed.

Trump planned to fire Pirro, but after a meeting at the White House, she still had her job, sources tell CNN.

ICE spends millions tracking critics online

The US immigration police ICE spends millions of dollars every month tracking and trying to prosecute people who express criticism of the agency's activities online. The Wall Street Journal reports.

People who have expressed negative or disparaging comments about the agency have also been approached by agents in several cases without any legal proceedings being initiated.

- They told me never to write like that again, says a woman who likened the agents to Nazis.

According to a statement from the DHS agency, the work is about preventing threats against ICE personnel.
