New agreement is drawn up in Berlin – Germany is promised combat data
Germany and Ukraine are to draw up an agreement that aims to strengthen the countries' military cooperation, reports Reuters.
What is currently a declaration of intent consists of ten points and has a strong focus on the Ukrainian defense industry. The countries will, among other things, cooperate on military research and hold regular high-level meetings. Kyiv will share data on how German technology performs on the battlefield, according to Bloomberg.
"A strong Ukrainian defense industry is crucial for defense against Russia's war of aggression and is an important part of security guarantees to deter future Russian aggression," says a document published in connection with Volodymyr Zelenskyj's trip to Berlin.
New MI6 chief identifies Russia as an urgent threat
Great Britain is facing a "new era of uncertainty" where "the front line is everywhere." The new head of the British intelligence service, formerly known as MI6, is expected to say this in a speech later on Monday.
Several media outlets have seen Blaise Metreweli's speech in advance. It is her first speech since taking office this year.
In the speech, Metreweli is expected to address Russia as an urgent threat and warn that Britain could be exposed to cyberattacks and new assassination plots, similar to the attempted assassination of Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury in 2018.
"Exporting chaos is a deliberate part of Russia's way of acting internationally - it is not a mistake," the written speech says.
