Iran Recruits Children – to Man Roadblocks

Iran's security forces are starting to recruit children as young as 12 to man roadblocks in Tehran, a top Revolutionary Guard official told state television, according to AFP.

Residents in Tehran say they have seen children in civilian clothes and teenagers with automatic weapons manning the new roadblocks in the city.

A witness says armed teenagers who do not appear to have been trained appear after rocket attacks and block the area.

- They shout orders to people, 'stand here, stand there', and fire warning shots in the air, he says.
