US senator changes his mind after Powell announcement

Republican Senator Thom Tillis releases his blocking of Kevin Warsh, who was nominated by Donald Trump to be the new Fed chief, writes international media.

– I am prepared to continue the process of confirming Mr. Warsh, Tillis tells CNBC.

The announcement comes after the US Department of Justice on Friday dropped its criminal investigation into Fed chief Jerome Powell. Tillis has previously blocked the nomination, citing the investigation.
