The climate threat The political situation in Great Britain
Sunak's brief helicopter ride fails to impress voters
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been the subject of negative headlines after he traveled a distance of just over 10 miles by helicopter this week. That type of travel is not appreciated by the public, according to a new survey cited by Politico. Fewer than every third person believes that Sunak should always travel as quickly as possible for work.
A majority thinks he should travel by public transport, even if it takes longer. Sunak has previously been criticized by activists, because the climate footprint is clearly higher when traveling by air compared to, for example, trains.
Downing Street says it always takes the "taxpayer's interest" into account when deciding how the Prime Minister will travel.

The military coup in Gabon
Gabon opens borders - president remains under house arrest
Gabon will reopen its borders immediately, the military junta announced on Saturday. Traffic to and from the country is allowed again on roads, at sea and in the air, writes AFP.
Earlier, General Brice Oligui Nguema said that the country will return to being a democracy, but without specifying when, the BBC writes.
According to the political opposition, the military shows no desire to return power to the people. President Ali Bongo has been under house arrest since the coup last Wednesday.
Gabon öppnar gränserna – president kvar i husarrest
President Ali Bongo sitter i husarrest sedan kuppen i onsdags.
