Poland stops sending weapons to Ukraine - to rapidly equip its own defense.
This is announced by the country's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki says in a television interview that Poland will stop sending weapons to Ukraine, according to the national news agency PAP.
- We will instead focus on quickly equipping our own defense with modern weapons, says the prime minister to the channel.
The announcement is based on the tense situation between the countries - due to the conflict over Ukrainian grain exports.
Refuses to follow the decision
Since June, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia ban the import of Ukrainian grain. Last week, the European Commission put an end to the ban - but several of the affected countries have announced that they will not follow it.
This is because the countries' agricultural sector has repeatedly pointed out complaints about how difficult it is for the countries to compete with Ukraine's large influx of grain.

Accused Poland of doing Moscow's business
According to Polsat News, Zelenskyi has accused Poland of doing Moscow's business - and on Wednesday Poland summoned Ukraine's ambassador because of a statement Zelenskyi made in his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.
Zelenskyy then said that some countries are pretending to be in solidarity with Ukraine.
"Capable of drowning the rescuer"
Even harsh words have come from Polish President Andrzej Duda. According to the Financial Times, he has compared Ukraine to a person who is drowning and "holding on to everything they can".
- A person who is about to drown is extremely dangerous, and is capable of drowning the person who is the rescuer, says Duda according to the newspaper.
