Police violence in the United States
Pregnant woman shot dead by police in Ohio
Police in Ohio have released video footage from a body camera showing a police officer fatally shooting a pregnant black woman in the state on August 24.
21-year-old Ta'Kiya Young was accused of shoplifting and refused to get out of her car when told to do so by police. Instead, she drove the car towards one of the policemen who then fired a shot through the windscreen.
Both the woman and her unborn child were pronounced dead in hospital.
Statistics compiled by the Washington Post show that black Americans are vastly overrepresented when it comes to fatal police violence.

DeSantis snubs Biden visiting Florida after Idalia
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis does not plan to meet with President Joe Biden during his visit to the state after Hurricane Idalia, US media reports.
Biden is to inspect the devastation and meet with residents on Saturday. DeSanti's administration said in a statement that the visit could disrupt efforts in the affected areas, after which the politicians will not be seen. Earlier this week, however, they both seemed to agree to meet.
