The political situation in Norway
Analysis: Historic blue success - and Støre's big defeat
The bourgeois bloc in Norway takes an unusually strong election victory at the same time as the Labor Party's defeat is historic. That's what NRK's Lars Nehru Sand writes in an analysis of the Norwegian local elections.
It is the first time since 1924 that Høyre is the largest party in Norway and the right-wing bloc attracted at least ten percent of the voters, which is surprisingly many, according to Nehru Sand. He highlights an ideological twist in the country as one of the explanations for the success.
VG's Hanne Skartveit calls Monday's election the nightmare of Social Democratic Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, not least because the party is losing power in Oslo and other major cities. But at the same time, he will not be allowed to go now, but it is a question before the general election in two years, according to Skartveit.
"A lot can happen in two years in politics, which means both hope and danger for Støre," she writes.

Clear: Høyre largest in the Norwegian municipal elections
Høyre became the largest party in the Norwegian municipal elections with 25.9 percent of the votes, when almost all votes were counted. This is reported by TT. This meant a substantial increase of 5.8 percentage points for the party.
The second largest was the Labor Party with 21.7 percent, after a decrease of 3.1 percentage points. This means that Høyre, for the first time in 99 years, knocks the Labor Party down from the position as the largest party.
Even in the county council election, Høyre is making strong progress while the Labor Party is backing down.
