Swedish inflation
The founder of the inflation target: "We had to be hip to"

Sveriges Riksbank was one of the first central banks to set a stated percentage target for inflation. And that goal was not related to any exact science, says Thomas Franzén, who was deputy governor of the Riksbank during the 90s crisis, in the SVT program "Debt Fever". This is reported by EFN.

- We had to come up with an inflation target that could be credible.

Franzén now says 30 years later that the two percent target has become like "a church" and led to major consequences in times of increased indebtedness and inequality.

There is a 28 percent difference between men's and women's pensions

Sweden is the country in the Nordics where there is the biggest difference between men's and women's pensions, states the Institute for Equality in a new report on behalf of PRO. This is reported by TT.

In Sweden, pensions differ by 28 percent between the sexes, while the difference is 5 percent in Iceland and 8 percent in Denmark.

- The differences are striking and we were quite shocked. We have known that there are big differences but not that big, says Joel Stade, expert in pension issues at PRO, to the news agency.

Meta's future
Meta fires employees who misused meal tickets

Employees at Meta who bought toothpaste and detergent instead of food with the company's meal vouchers are fired, reports the FT.

The layoffs of two dozen employees took place last week, just days before the company began a restructuring within teams at Whatsapp, Instagram and Reality Labs, the newspaper writes.

The company pays staff $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and $25 for dinner — a common practice among tech giants. The fired employees must have abused the privilege to buy other things for a long time, a source told the FT.
