Iran's former supreme leader Ali Khamenei will be buried in July, Iranian state television reports.

The 86-year-old ayatollah was killed in Israeli and American airstrikes on February 28.

The funeral was supposed to take place in March, but had to be postponed because of the war. It will be a multi-day ceremony that begins in the capital Tehran on July 4 and then continues in the holy city of Qom for Shiite Muslims. On July 9, the actual burial will then take place in Khamenei's hometown of Mashhad.
