New Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon

Despite signals that a major peace settlement is underway in the Middle East, Israel is attacking Lebanon again.

On Saturday, Israel urged civilians to leave 20 areas, including the city of Nabatieh, and began bombing there a short time later.

The NNA news agency is reporting explosions in villages around Nabatieh, among others.

The targets are believed to be linked to the Iran-allied Hezbollah militia. The violence in Lebanon has repeatedly hampered Iran-US peace talks.
