After the giant deal – Arla now owns Russian cheese factories
Arla
has merged with the German dairy company DMK Group and now owns an
"extensive cheese operation" with hundreds of employees in Russia,
reports TT.
This is because DMK Group has remained with
production in the country, while other dairy companies – including Arla –
chose to leave the country after the large-scale invasion of Ukraine in
2022.
Arla has previously stated that the issue of operations in
Russia would be handled after the merger of the companies came into
effect, which happened on June 1. In a comment to TT, Arla CEO Cecilia
Kocken believes that only now can "concrete decisions be made".
"At
the same time, we have a responsibility to handle the situation for the
local employees in a correct and respectful manner," writes Kocken.

US Gives Green Light to Paramount's Giant Deal
The
US Department of Justice has approved Paramount Skydance's purchase of
Warner Bros Discovery, several media outlets report. The deal is valued
at more than 110 billion dollars, equivalent to just over 1000 billion
kronor.
The department assesses that the deal will not harm
competition or disadvantage American consumers. The decision came after
an eight-month review in which over two million documents were analyzed.
However,
the deal continues to face opposition. Several states are preparing
legal proceedings to block the merger and the European Commission is
also reviewing it.
Paramount's giant deal — the point is this
- Paramount Skydance bought Warner Bros Discovery for $110 billion after Netflix withdrew from the bidding war in February 2026.
- According to media reports, the Warner Bros board rejected several hostile bids from Paramount, but finally accepted the higher bid after financing was secured from, among other places, the Middle East.
- The deal means that the streaming services HBO Max and Paramount Plus can be merged into a common platform.
- It was expected that the Trump administration would approve the deal, after Paramount promised to continue releasing films in theaters.
- Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav may receive compensation of approximately SEK 6.5 billion in connection with the sale.
