Middle East Crisis

Peace Talks
Trump: We're signing tomorrow - the strait will open immediately

The memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran will be signed tomorrow. This is what US President Donald Trump claims in a post on Truth Social.

He also writes that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened immediately.

"Immediately after the agreement is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to everyone," Trump writes.

Mediating country Pakistan has also stated that the peace agreement is complete and that preparations are now being made for the countries to be able to sign the agreement digitally.

However, things have sounded different from the Iranian side on Saturday. State-run Iranian media have reported that the framework for the agreement is largely complete, but that important negotiations still remain. At the same time, it has been important for the Iranian regime to downplay the American successes in the negotiations.

What the agreement actually looks like is still largely unknown. Both the US and Iran claim that they have got through several of their key issues.

Israel-Hezbollah
Task: Israel plans to stop ground invasion in Lebanon

The Israeli military IDF is preparing to stop the ground offensive in Lebanon in the war against Hezbollah. This is reported by the Jerusalem Post with reference to Kan News.

According to defense sources, the Israeli forces plan to scale back their operations and cease attacks on Hezbollah targets in order not to jeopardize a possible agreement between Iran and the United States. However, Israel will maintain its presence in the Lebanese security zones.

The peace agreement reportedly contains demands for the war in Lebanon to end. However, there is still great uncertainty about the details of the agreement.
