Trump meets Zelensky at G7 summit

US President Donald Trump will participate in a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in France on Tuesday, a source in the Trump administration said.

The meeting is being held in connection with the G7 summit in Evian on Lake Geneva, which runs from June 15 to 17.

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed hope that the meeting can rebuild consensus between European leaders and the US on support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Trump is also expected to meet with several Middle Eastern leaders during the G7 meeting to discuss how the war with Iran can be ended, as well as discuss the issue of mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz with allies.

The G7 consists of France, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
