Trump: Iranian ship attack a violation of the ceasefire
US President Donald Trump accuses Iran of violating the ceasefire after a ship operating in the Strait of Hormuz was fired upon.
According to the president, Iran fired four drones at the cargo ship, one of which hit the upper deck.
“Damage occurred, but the ship was able to continue its journey. We shot down three other drones. This is clearly a stupid violation of our ceasefire agreement,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump did not specify which incident he was referring to. But it is known that a ship was hit by some kind of projectile in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has warned ships against sailing through the Strait of Hormuz without permission.
The United States and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at permanently ending the war between the countries.
