Attacks between the US and Iran: "Strike hard"
The US has carried out a new wave of attacks on Iran - for the ninth night in a row.
At the same time, air raid sirens and explosions have sounded in several countries in the Middle East.

Shortly after midnight, the US military announced that it had launched new attacks on Iran. The attacks lasted for about four hours and were described - as on previous nights - as having the aim of "weakening Iranian military capacity".
During the same hours, reports came that air defenses had been activated in Kuwait and Bahrain. American bases in the countries have been subjected to Iranian retaliatory attacks with drones and missiles several times during the war.
“The army’s general staff points out that the explosions heard are due to air defense systems repelling enemy attacks,” writes the Kuwaiti military in a post on X.
Iran: Aircraft attacked
Iran also claims to have targeted Syria overnight. The Revolutionary Guard calls it “a surprise attack on the enemy’s special operations command center” and that the attack is “revenge” for American attacks on the city of Iranshahr.
Jordan is also said to have been attacked, including American aircraft stationed at a military base.
Last week, at least two American soldiers were killed in a similar attack on Jordan. President Trump told the media overnight that the latest US attack was carried out “in memory” of the soldiers killed.
Incidents are also said to have occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran claims that two oil tankers “exploded and stopped” overnight. It is unknown whether this is the case, but the British authority UKMTO, which monitors maritime traffic, states that a ship in the strait was set on fire, without providing further information.
Rubio: More must contribute
"Two oil tankers, which did not follow the rules and tried to enter and exit via the dangerous southern route through the Strait of Hormuz, exploded and were stopped," the Revolutionary Guards statement said.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on countries overnight to "contribute" to securing shipping through the strait.
- Countries must start taking their responsibility and contribute, whether it is equipment or financing, to help bear this burden, he told the media in connection with a trip.
