Houthi movement begins blockade of Saudi Arabia
The Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen says it has begun a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia.
Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree says in a video statement that the ban on all shipping to Saudi Arabia is a response to the Saudi blockade of all Houthi-controlled ports and airports.
According to him, the blockade is also a reaction to Saudi Arabia attacking the airport in Yemen's capital Sanaa last week. The Houthi movement then shelled an airport in Abha in southern Saudi Arabia.
