Fed vs. inflation
The Fed is prepared to wait with an interest rate hike

Next week's US inflation data will be crucial for how Fed Governor Christopher Waller will approach the interest rate announcement a few days later, writes Reuters. If inflation continues towards the two percent target, he is prepared to support an unchanged key interest rate of 3.50-3.75 percent.

- But if inflation becomes high, I would consider an interest rate hike, he says in a pre-recorded speech that the news agency has seen.

CPI inflation unexpectedly fell in July to 3.4 percent from 3.5 percent the month before. Next Friday's August figure is expected to remain at 3.4 percent at an annual rate, according to Trading Economics.

The stock market chooses to interpret Waller's statement as positive and global indices rise on Thursday.

Trump on one dollar coin – sold out immediately

The US Mint is issuing a special edition with President Donald Trump's face on the one dollar coin. It is the first time in 100 years that a living president has been represented, writes the BBC.

Demand seems to be high – immediately upon launch, the Mint's website announced that the Trump dollar was out of stock. It was possible to buy 25 one dollar coins for $61 and 100 one dollar coins for $154.50.

The future of the automotive sector
Polestar lowers forecast – losses increase

Volvo Cars spin-off Polestar lowers its sales forecast for the full year in today's quarterly report.

Revenue fell by 8.1 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. At the same time, losses increased.

This summer, the company learned that it would be stopped from selling new cars in the US from the 2027 model year. This was because the country tightened the rules for connected vehicles with technology from China.

This decision burdens the company's accounts with 130 million dollars, equivalent to just over 1.25 billion kronor, Polestar writes.
