Israel has agreed to release five detained Lebanese. This after Lebanon reportedly helped find the remains of Jewish Lebanese.

“In light of this significant activity, it has been decided to release five Lebanese civilians who were arrested in areas of southern Lebanon under the control of the Israeli military,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office wrote in a statement.

The statement describes the remains found as belonging to “victims who were kidnapped and murdered in the mid-1980s by terrorist organizations.”

One of the five arrested Lebanese was handed over on Thursday, the International Committee of the Red Cross announced.

At the end of June, a US-negotiated framework agreement was concluded to achieve peace between Israel and Lebanon. However, the Shiite militia Hezbollah was not part of the agreement, and Israel's attacks in Lebanon have continued.
