DeSantis: Coward - I'm not going to ignore the voters
Nikki Haley is too scared to take the debate. That's what Florida Governor Ron DeSantis writes on X after his Republican opponent announced that she will not appear in this week's primary debate unless Donald Trump participates.
He believes that Haley, and Trump, who has not participated in a single debate, ignore the voters. He himself is looking forward to debating against two empty seats.
"I plan to fulfill my commitments".
Ron DeSantis received just over 21 percent of voter support at last night's Iowa caucuses, far behind Donald Trump's 51 percent. The next nominating convention is in New Hampshire.

Haley refuses to debate - will be boycotted if Trump does not attend
Nikki
Haley will not participate in the next Republican debate in the
primaries unless Donald Trump also stands up, she says according to
Politico.
- When he says he will, then I will be there, says the former UN ambassador ahead of the next debate on Thursday.
Trump has so far not appeared in debates with the other candidates, and according to Haley, he cannot continue to "hide".
A source in Haley's campaign tells NBC News that going forward, Haley will have a different strategy than in Iowa. In
Iowa, most effort has been put into getting ahead of DeSantis, but now
most will be about taking on Trump, the source believes.
Donald Trump last night won a landslide victory among Republican voters with 51 percent support in Iowa. Nikki Haley came in third with 19.1 percent, behind Ron DeSantis who got 21.2.

Hutchinson gives up - after only 191 votes
Asa Hutchinson drops out of the race to become the Republican presidential candidate, AP reports.
In doing so, he becomes the second to drop out after Vivek Ramaswamy, who made the same announcement after the night's nomination meeting in Iowa.
Support for Hutchinson has been very weak. The 73-year-old received only 0.2 percent of the votes last night. He received only 191 votes, compared to Trump, the overwhelming winner, with 51 percent and just over 56,000 votes.
