Ukraine has displayed wreckage from Putin's "new terror robot".

According to the Russian president, it cannot be stopped.

But a first analysis says otherwise.

The parts from the explosion in Dnipro were shown to journalists at a secret location in Ukraine on Sunday.

Ukrainian experts have begun the analysis of the robot that President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy called a terrorist weapon.

Never seen before

The various parts from the ballistic robot were on display in a smaller area with an artificial turf floor and walls covered in camouflage netting.

According to the security service SBU, the robot was of a type that had not been seen before.

According to Ukraine, it must have created devastation of "civilian and other infrastructure" in Dnipro.

One of the analysts tells the AFP news agency that "it is the first time that wreckage from such a robot has been found in Ukraine"

That statement is consistent with Putin's statements after the test firing of the weapon. But on another, completely central point, they have a different opinion than the Russians.

"Can be stopped"

Russia attacked the city of Dnipro with the newly developed nuclear-capable Oreshnik ballistic robot on Thursday night.

- The test was a success, Putin said at a meeting in the Kremlin on Friday with his top defense officials.

Putin claimed that no other country in the world has a weapon like the Oreshnik and that it cannot be stopped from reaching its intended target.

- No way to stop it exists in the world, he says.

But according to Zelenskyy, that is not true.

- The world has air defense systems that can stop such threats, he says.

Threatens Europe

The president states that the analysis of the parts is still ongoing and that they are "working with their allies in the West to provide an answer to the Russian escalation".

- Everyone must focus on this. Russia must feel that every step it takes to expand the war has consequences, says Zelenskyy according to the Kyiv Independent.

- Putin cannot get a single week to adapt or find countermeasures.

Putin states that the robot will be used on the battlefield in Ukraine again.

- We will continue with the tests, even under combat conditions.

During a meeting in the Kremlin, Sergei Karakayev, head of Russia's strategic robotic forces, said the robot has the capability to strike targets across Europe.

NATO in crisis meeting

- A massive use of this weapon is comparable to an attack with nuclear weapons, said Karakayev.

NATO and Ukraine are to meet in a crisis meeting about this on Tuesday.

According to Putin, the test firing of the Oreshnik robot was a response to the Ukrainian attack by long-range robots from the United States and Great Britain deep into Russian territory.
