China on tariffs: “Fentanyl is the US’s problem”

It was under the threat of drugs like fentanyl that Donald Trump issued the presidential order imposing sweeping tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China.

China’s response is that the tariffs “seriously violate” existing trade rules, and that the country is not taking responsibility for the opioid crisis in the US, reports Reuters.

– Fentanyl is the US’s problem, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Sunday, according to the news agency.
