Trump's first term

Trump: Doge money can end up in wallets

Money saved through Elon Musk and the White House's so-called efficiency department, Doge, can partly go directly to American households. That's what Donald Trump says, according to NBC News.

According to the president, a proposal is being considered that would mean that 20 percent would be used for dividends to Americans and that 20 percent would be used to pay off the country's national debt.

A proposal to distribute checks was launched by Musk in a post on X earlier this week.

- I think it's a brilliant idea, says Trump.

Trump portrays himself as a king: "Will not kneel"

In a post on social media, US President Donald Trump likens himself to a king, several media outlets report. It was yesterday that his administration stopped an agreement on congestion taxes in New York, which prompted Trump to address his followers directly.

"Manhattan and all of New York are saved. Long live the king!”, the president wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Shortly afterwards, the White House shared an AI-generated image of Trump wearing a royal crown with the same text. The posts have prompted several Democratic politicians to react. One of them is JB Pritzker, governor of Illinois, who bluntly states that the United States has no king.

– And I will not kneel before one, he says according to The Guardian.

At the same time, the German newspaper Bild wonders in a news article whether Trump has “finally lost touch with reality completely”.

“It almost seems so”, it further writes.
