The shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner will not make US President Donald Trump change his mind about the war in Iran.

- It will not deter me from winning the war in Iran. I don't know if it had anything to do with it, I really don't think so, based on what we know, Trump said at a press conference after the incident.

On Saturday, Trump canceled the US envoy's trip to Pakistan for new peace talks with Iran, as Iran's proposal for the mediator Pakistan was not considered good enough.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has subsequently spoken with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

"Pakistan remains committed to acting as an honest and sincere mediator – and working tirelessly to promote lasting peace and lasting stability in the region," Sharif writes on X.
