US lifts sanctions on Venezuelan leader

The US has lifted sanctions on Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodríguez.
Her name was removed from a list of people subject to sanctions on the US Treasury Department's website on Wednesday.
Former Vice President Delcy Rodríguez took over the country's government after then-President Nicolás Maduro was abducted by US elite soldiers at the beginning of the year.
She has since maintained a more pro-US line and, among other things, accepted President Donald Trump's demand for access to Venezuela's significant oil resources.
