Israel's blockade of emergency aid to Gaza condemned
Israel's decision to stop all aid shipments to Gaza is being met with sharp criticism. UN Secretary-General António Guterres is demanding that humanitarian aid "immediately flow back" to Gaza, reports The Guardian.
Tom Fletcher, the UN humanitarian chief, writes on X that Israel's decision is alarming.
"International humanitarian law is clear: We must allow deliveries of life-saving aid," writes Fletcher.
Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have also criticized the decision, saying it violates the ceasefire agreement. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry accuses Israel of using starvation as "a weapon against the Palestinian people."
Israel is demanding that Hamas sign the US proposal for an extended ceasefire, reports the AP.
Israel: Has enough food for an obesity epidemic
Israeli government spokesman David Mencer accuses Hamas of seizing supplies delivered to Gaza.
According to Mencer, the terrorist organization has "enough food to fuel an obesity epidemic" in Gaza, he said at a press conference, AFP reports.
The move comes after the UN and several countries urged Israel to reverse Sunday's decision to halt all emergency supplies to Gaza.

Thousands protest at Netanyahu's residence: "Don't dare sabotage the agreement"
Thousands of demonstrators broke through police cordons outside Benjamin Netanyahu's house in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, writes Haaretz.
"Don't dare sabotage the agreement. You are betraying the hostages," the demonstrators wrote in a statement.
At a press conference in Tel Aviv on Sunday, the families of the hostages made the same demand: Israel must immediately move on to the second phase of the ceasefire.
Israel and the US instead want to extend the first phase of the ceasefire, which expired this weekend. The terrorist group Hamas says firmly no and demands that the original agreement be maintained.
Phase two negotiations were supposed to begin a month ago, but Israel did not show up, writes the Times of Israel. The second phase involves an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent ceasefire, which Netanyahu does not agree to.
In a statement, Netanyahu thanks the US for its support and calls Hamas' demands for a permanent ceasefire "completely unacceptable".
